January 14, 2008

Lawyers for Kevin Federline said Monday that a California judge has refused to grant singer Britney Spears visitation rights with her two children for at least another month.

Lawyers for Kevin Federline said Monday that a California judge has refused to grant singer Britney Spears visitation rights with her two children for at least another month.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon extended the suspension indefinitely during a closed hearing Monday, Mark Vincent Kaplan, a lawyer for Kevin Federline, told reporters. The earliest her attorneys could appeal the ruling would be at a Feb. 19 hearing, Kaplan said.

"There's no joyous feeling in this," Kaplan said. "It's a grave situation for everyone."

Spears has been in a heated with Federline, a former backup dancer for the pop star, over custody of their sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. She has been in trouble with the court earlier concerning her compliance with previous court orders and was hospitalized briefly after a Jan. 3 custody dispute at her Studio City home.
