New Amsterdam series remade to please critics
March 4, 2008
"New Amsterdam" is a romantic fantasy series about a man, John Amsterdam, who is given the gift (or curse) of immortality when he saves the life of a Native American woman in the 17th century.
The magic cannot be unbroken until he meets his true love, after which he may grow old with her and eventually die. Most of the movie takes place in modern-day New York City, where John is working as a homicide detective.
The series, starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, was first sent to critics last summer, after which it was edited, and parts of it re-shot, to fix some of the fatal flaws that were uncovered.
The second version is to premier at 9 pm EST on Tuesday.
